What is the communitarian work?

Communitarian work is a social intervention method based in all community members participation to face difficulties, conflicts and community needs, or some parts of it. The communitarian work is preventive, go-between, participatory and repairing work.

Due carrying out the social intervention through objectives achievements, the enforcement of a methodology will be needed.
The Communitarian Intervention is that methodology. It’s included investigation-action as a base of first development, the citizens participation as a primordial developmental technique and the social improvement as a priority aim, from innovation and multidisciplinary creativity. The participation, transversal work and restorative practices are fundamental areas for this intervention methodology. The communitarian work care about the whole community members, its’ elected representants, its’ technical workers and the citizens, to keep working on a collective construction work, always from the respect to the whole process that it was developing by the community from the past time and that will keep going after the Communitarian Action Support team work.
It is necessary to keep in mind methodologies and techniques development through communitarian work are at each Territory and specific community needs service.

The participated diagnosis is the first phase of intervention, in order to develop any social and civic project intervention in which the community is involved, it is indispensable to start from a coordinated work, transversal and participatory, to secure the efforts applied into the right direction, so a township situation and the groups involved will need to be analyzed and assess which are the available resources in the Territory. The analysis and its consequences must be strict and organized, from one part, and participative and resolutive from the other part.
The diagnosis does not exclude shock plans or an emergency intervention that can be detected at a first approach, and the team has the mechanisms to be able to perform them.
Finally, the diagnosis will always be mediator and repairer for its participants, and this is the principal function at the first phase of the socio-educational intervention.
Once the diagnosis is finished, we begin the Participative Planification phase of the Social and Civic Action Project. At this phase, origin of shared knowledge gain through the return diagnosis, the community will be able to define together which ones are the necessary and prior work lines. This is the building phase of the project, a dream... It’s necessary but must be realistic and assess what applicability of all proposals, project and actions that can be derived and see the economic and technical feasibility. The planning has to be ambitious without being deluded.
After the planning phase and diagnosis phase, the Coordinated and transversal implementation project phase come through, this phase of the Social and Civic Action Project is extremely complex because have everything written on paper is one thing but the social, technical and political reality need to restore, rehabilitate and reconfigure many of its functions, tasks and relations is a different matter. Materialize a project was always a hard to achieve. The community and ESAC are the guarantors of the work done in the previous phases.
Nowadays the Communitarian Action Support Team is developing three different projects in three townships: Santa Eugènia de Berga, Montesquiu y Moià.
